My how you've changed.

The telegraph: Morris code sent messages up and down wires across the nation and around the world.
Telegram: Once the message was received, it was deciphered, put on paper and delivered by hand.
Telephone: At first, only a select few had phones. And bad news was delivered via this instrument.
The bag phone: The first mobile phones or car phones looked like this one.
Mobile vs Cell: Once the smallest mobile phone looked like the one on the left. Replaced by sleek touch screens that have it all. Phone, Internet, photos...times they are a changing.

Interesting History: They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot & then once a day it was taken & sold to the tannery.......if you had to do this to survive you were "Piss Poor". But worse than that were the really poor folk who couldn't even afford to buy a pot......they "didn't have a pot topiss in" & were the lowest of the low

Before remote control channel changes, there were manual dials. You actually had to get up and go to the TV to change the channel. Channel surfing was a non issue.

Before there was speed dial and cell phones, there were rotary dials. Using a pencil to dial saved your nails.

Before cable TV there were "rabbit ear" antenna's. Aluminum foil helped the reception.

Insistant Lap Dog

I always thought little ole ladies carrying little dogs were just being silly. Little did I know it was at the insistence of the dog.
Small dogs insist on sitting in your lap. If you are lucky, you will be able to sit before the hound is on you. And did I mention they are Bed Hogs?
Shorty is the strongest 6.5 pounds of hound around. I double dog dare you to move him. Once he has picked his spot...it's like he's taken root. You can't slide him, nudge him or displace him. Stuck like glue to you. That's Shorts. Why didn't anyone tell me?
So next time you see a little dog dressed in a silly outfit, know it was the only way to make em pay for being insistent.

Word Processing and the lost art of letters

The first word processors were known as typewriters. They made a SWAK SWAK SWAK sound. And they were an excellent way to write letters. You remember letters...those pieces of paper with words written from friends and family.
